La Dreamworks animation produce la pellicola d'animazione Rise of the Guardians basata sulla serie di romanzi per bambini "The Guardians of Childhood" di William Joyce che racconta le gesta di un gruppo di eroi leggendari dotati di straordinarie abilità.
Quando Pitch (Law), uno spirito maligno simile all'uomo nero, decide di impossessarsi del mondo, per la prima volta i Guardiani immortali devono unire le loro forze per proteggere la speranza, le credenze e l'immaginazione dei bambini di tutto il mondo.
Chris Pine sostituisce Leonardo DiCaprio nel doppiaggio di Jack Frost, Hugh Jackman è Bunnymund (il coniglietto pasquale), Alec Baldwin è North (Babbo natale) e Isla Fisher è Tooth (la fata dei denti).
La sceneggiatura è stata scritta dal premio Pulitzer David Lindasay-Abaire. Il film riceverà il premio per l'animazione alla 16a edizione del Hollywood Film Awards.
